DJ Browne Sales Manager with Newmarket Motors Volkswagen is looking forward to 2022. Looking back at 2021 he says:
“The SUVs like the Tiquan, T-Roc and T-Cross are still our most popular models but it’s been exciting to see electric models grow in popularity.”
The switch over to electric is a trend that is in full flight across Europe with last December seeing the sales of electric cars overtake diesel models for the first time. Volkswagen are leading the way and sales figures show Volkswagen’s ID.3 and ID.4 were Ireland’s bestselling all-electric cars of 2021 with a combined market share of more than 31%. This leadership is set to continue with new models like the ID.5 and the VW’s first all electric van the ID.Buzz coming in 2022.
